O  Yahweh, don’t ever forget how these arrogant enemies, like fools, have mocked your name.

And Lord, may you never forget what the sons of Edom did to us, saying, “Let’s raze the city of Jerusalem and burn it to the ground!”

Save me from being overpowered by my sin; don’t make me a disgrace before the degenerate.

God always blesses those who are kind to the poor and helpless. They’re the first ones God helps when they find themselves in any trouble.

Don’t ignore these ignorant words, this continual mocking. Rise up, God; it’s time to defend yourself from all this.

Yahweh, remember all that we’ve endured; look and see our disgrace.

But I chose to withhold my punishment for the sake of my holy name, that it not be profaned in the eyes of the nations who had seen my power in bringing the Israelites out of Egypt.

I’ve heard all your boasting, arrogant words. Your many speeches that opposed me relentlessly, I have heard them all.

It split the great city Babylon into three parts, and other cities of the nations collapsed. For God remembered great Babylon and her winecup filled with his fiery wrath.
