Arise, awake, and come to help us, O Lord. Let your unfailing love save us from this sorrow!

You crushed the strongholds of Egypt, and all your enemies were scattered at the mighty display of your glory-power.

The nations retreat at the sound of your roaring voice. The nations scatter as you arise in your majesty.

God, rebuke the beast-life that hides within us! Rebuke those who claim to be “strong ones,” who lurk within the congregation and abuse the people out of their love for money. God scatters the people who are spoiling for a fight.

When the Almighty found a king for himself, it became white as snow in his shade.

Don’t kill them; stagger them all with a vivid display of power and scatter them with your armies of angels, O mighty God, our protector! Use your awesome power to make them wanderers and vagabonds and then bring them down.

Your almighty hands have captured your foes. You uncovered all who hate you and you seized them.

Then, all at once, the entire statue collapsed into a heap of rubble. The iron and clay, bronze, silver, and gold were all pulverized as fine as chaff on the summer threshing-floor. The wind blew the shattered pieces away, leaving not a trace behind. But the boulder that hit the statue grew into a massive mountain that covered the whole earth.

When the days of your siege are over, burn up a third in the midst of the city of Jerusalem. Take another third and chop it up with the sword around the perimeter of the tile-city. Then scatter the last third to the wind. I will pursue those who escape the city with my sword.
