Only you will be our Savior from all our enemies. All those who hate us you have brought to shame.

He has rescued us from the power of our enemies! His tender love for us continues on forever!

I will sing of you, the one who gives victory to kings— the one who rescues David, your loving servant, from the fatal sword.

Let all who seek my life be humiliated! Let them be confused and ashamed, God. Scatter those who wish me evil; they just want me dead.

Soon, unheard-of terror will seize them while in their sins. God himself will one day scatter the bones of those who rose up against you. Doomed and rejected, they will be put to shame, for God has despised them.

Joshua, no one will be able to defeat you for the rest of your life! I will be with you as I was with Moses, and I will never fail nor abandon you.

Joshua conquered all their kings and their lands in a single campaign, for Yahweh, the God of Israel, fought for his people.

Yahweh spoke to Joshua, saying, “Don’t be afraid of them; by this time tomorrow, I, Yahweh, will have them all lying slain before Israel. After the battle, cripple their horses and burn their chariots.”

Yet, whenever Yahweh raised up a hero for them, his presence and power were with that leader, and he would rescue the people from their enemies as long as that deliverer lived. Yahweh had mercy and pitied them because of their cries of distress and groanings under the grip of their oppressors.
