Our fathers’ faith was in you— through the generations they trusted in you and you came through.

“Not anymore,” the man said to him. “Your new name is Israel, for you have struggled both with God and with people and have overcome.”

And Abram trusted every word Yahweh had spoken! And because of his faith, Yahweh credited it to him as righteousness.
