Bring me out of this dungeon so I can declare your praise! And all the righteous will celebrate all the wonderful things you’ve done for me!

Now I can say to myself and to all, “Relax and rest, be confident and serene, for the Lord rewards fully those who simply trust in him.”

Let me, your servant, walk in abundance of life that I may always live to obey your truth.

May all your devoted lovers see how you treat me and be glad, for your words are entwined with my heart.

I will sing my song of joy to you, Yahweh, for in all of this you have strengthened my soul. My enemies say that I have no Savior, but I know that I have one in you!

God, I’m crying out to you! I lift up my voice boldly to beg for your mercy.

Lord, if you rescue me, it will bring you more glory, for you are true to your promises. Bring me out of these troubles!

Save me from all my enemies, for I hide myself in you.

The oppressed get justice with you. The hungry are satisfied with you. Prisoners find their freedom with you.

You have kept me from being conquered by my enemy; you broke open the way to bring me to freedom, into a beautiful, broad place.

I’m boasting of you and all your works, so let all who are discouraged take heart.

I show goodness to them and get paid evil in return. And they hate me even more when I stand for what is right.

Then I will sing your praises as I pass through the gates of the Daughter of Zion, rejoicing in your deliverance!

For when you appear, I worship you while my enemies run in retreat. They stumble and perish before your presence.

The mighty Spirit of Lord Yahweh is wrapped around me because Yahweh has anointed me, as a messenger to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted, to tell captives, “You are free,” and to tell prisoners, “Be free from your darkness.”

God destroyed the cords of death and raised him up, because it was impossible for death’s power to hold him prisoner.

We honor them as our heroes because they remained faithful even while enduring great sufferings. And you have heard of all that Job went through and we can now see that the Lord ultimately treated him with wonderful kindness, revealing how tenderhearted he really is!
