What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.

You forget to condemn the thief or adulterer. You are their friend, running alongside them into darkness.

If you want to grow in wisdom, spend time with the wise. Walk with the wicked and you’ll eventually become just like them.

A vicious criminal can be persuasive, enticing others to join him as partners in crime, but he leads them all down a despicable path.

A blabbermouth will reveal your secrets, so stay away from people who can’t keep their mouths shut.

For they’re obsessed with causing trouble and their conversations are corrupt.

Only those who walk with integrity and speak what is true, who despise even the thought of cheating the poor, and do not accept a bribe, nor plot violence, nor contemplate doing evil —

For people like this are not truly serving the Lord, our Messiah, but are being driven by their own desires for a following. Utilizing their smooth words and well-rehearsed blessings, they seek to deceive the hearts of innocent ones.

And don’t even associate with the servants of darkness because they have no fruit in them; instead, reveal truth to them.
