When one of your godly ones corrects me or one of your faithful ones rebukes me, I will accept it like an honor I cannot refuse. It will be as healing medicine that I swallow without an offended heart. Even if they are mistaken, I will continue to pray.

But a life lived loving God bears lasting fruit, for the one who is truly wise wins souls.

Now you should understand that it is never the desire of your heavenly Father that a single one of these little ones should be lost.”

Later Peter approached Jesus and said, “How many times do I have to forgive my fellow believer who keeps offending me? Seven times?”

In this same way, my heavenly Father will deal with any of you if you do not release forgiveness from your heart toward your fellow believer.”

Never let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.

And when you offend weaker believers by wounding their consciences in this way, you also offend the Anointed One!

So I wrote you not simply to correct the one who did the wrong or on the behalf of the one who was wronged, but to help you realize in God’s sight how loyal you are to us.

My beloved friends, if you see a believer who is overtaken with a fault, the one who is in the Spirit should seek to restore him in the Spirit of gentleness. But keep watch over your own heart so that you won’t be tempted to exalt yourself over him.

Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them.

Never take selfish advantage of a brother or sister in this matter, for we’ve already told you and solemnly warned you that the Lord is the avenger in all these things.

Yet don’t regard them as enemies, but caution them as fellow believers.

After a first and second warning, have nothing more to do with a divisive person who refuses to be corrected.

And now let me speak to the wives. Be devoted to your own husbands, so that even if some of them do not obey the Word of God, your kind conduct may win them over without you saying a thing.
