“Remember this: everyone with a lofty opinion of who he is and who seeks to raise himself up will be publicly humbled. And everyone with a modest opinion of who he is and chooses to humble himself will be raised up before all.”

For though you are lofty and exalted, you stoop to embrace the lowly. Yet you keep your distance from those filled with pride.

To the humble you bring heaven’s deliverance, but the proud and haughty you disregard.

The source of revelation-knowledge is found as you fall down in surrender before the Lord. Don’t expect to see Shekinah glory until the Lord sees your sincere humility.

A man’s heart is the proudest when his downfall is nearest, for he won’t see glory until the Lord sees humility.

It’s good to eat sweet things, but you can take too much. It’s good to be honored, but to seek words of praise is not honor at all.

Lift yourself up with pride and you will soon be brought low, but a meek and humble spirit will add to your honor.

The arrogant will be humbled and the pride of man brought low. Only one will be exalted in that day: Yahweh!

People’s arrogance will be conquered and brought low, and those proud of heart will be humiliated. Only one will be exalted in that day: Yahweh!

For this is what the high and majestic one says, the one who fills the eternal realm with glory, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in high and holy places but also with the bruised and lowly in spirit, those who are humble and quick to repent. I dwell with them to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of those who are broken over their sin.

Remember this: If you have a lofty opinion of yourself and seek to be honored, you will be humbled. But if you have a modest opinion of yourself and choose to humble yourself, you will be honored.”

Mighty power flows from him to scatter all those who walk in pride.

Powerful princes he tears from their thrones and he lifts up the lowly to take their place.

Then Jesus turned to his host and said, “When you throw a banquet, don’t just invite your friends, relatives, or rich neighbors—for it is likely they will return the favor.

“Which one of them left for home that day reconciled to God? The humble tax collector, not the religious leader! For everyone who praises himself will one day be publicly humiliated, and everyone who humbles himself will one day be publicly honored and lifted up.”

The believer who is poor still has reasons to boast, for he has been placed on high.

Be willing to be made low before the Lord and he will exalt you!

But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, “God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.”

In the same way, the younger ones should willingly support the leadership of the elders. In every relationship, each of you must wrap around yourself the apron of a humble servant. Because: God resists you when you are proud but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble.

If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands.
