Joshua 5:14

The Passion Translation

“Neither,” he replied. “I have not come to take sides but to take charge. I am the Commander of Yahweh’s armies.” At once, Joshua threw himself facedown to the ground and worshiped, and he said to him, “I will do whatever you command, my Lord.”

Then Abraham laughed so hard he fell to the ground, saying to himself, “How in the world can a hundred-year-old man become a father? How can my wife Sarah get pregnant at ninety?”

Then Abram fell on his face in awe before God, and God said to him,

Yahweh said to my Lord, the Messiah: “Sit with me as enthroned ruler while I subdue your every enemy. They will bow low before you as I make them a footstool for your feet.”

You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?” He is Yahweh, armed and ready for battle, the Mighty One, the invincible commander of heaven’s hosts! Yes, he is the King of Glory! Pause in his presence

See! I made him a witness to the nations, an example of leadership, as prince and commander of peoples.”

Then I heard the Lord saying, “Whom should I send to my people? Who will go to represent us?” I spoke up and said, “I will be the one. Send me.”

So I got up and went down into the valley and behold, the awesome glory of Yahweh manifested in front of me! It was like the vision of glory I had seen by the River Chebar, and I fell facedown.

However, for the past twenty-one days, the principality over the kingdom of Persia stood to oppose and resist me. Then Michael, one of the chief princes of heaven, came to my assistance. I was left there, confronting the king of Persia.

I will unveil to you what is written in the Book of Truth: but first, I want you to know that there is none who fights alongside me against these forces of darkness except Michael, your people’s prince.

“At that time, the great angel-prince, Michael, protector of your people, will take his stand. It will be a time of great distress, the worst trouble your nation has ever known. When that time comes, your own people will be spared—all those whose names are found written in the Book of Life.

The horn arrogantly exalted itself against the Prince of the heavenly armies. It abolished the daily sacrifices, and the place of his sanctuary was defiled.

The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit beside me in the place of authority until I subdue all your enemies under your feet’?

Suddenly, a leper walked up to Jesus and threw himself down before him in worship and said, “Lord, you have the power to heal me . . . if you really want to.”

How did I deserve such a remarkable honor to have the mother of my Lord come and visit me?

Haven’t you read in the Psalms where David himself wrote: The Lord Yahweh said to my Lord, ‘Sit near me in the place of authority

One day, while Jesus was in a certain city, he came upon a man covered with leprous sores. When the man recognized Jesus, he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet and begged to be healed, saying, “If you were willing, you could completely heal me.”

Then the words spilled out of his heart—“You are my Lord, and you are my God!”

To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. It’s all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness.

For now he towers above all creation, for all things exist through him and for him. And that God made him, pioneer of our salvation, perfect through his sufferings, for this is how he brings many sons and daughters to share in his glory.

Yahweh instructed Joshua: “A person who accidentally and unintentionally kills someone will need a place of asylum—a city where he can run for safety. Otherwise, the dead man’s relatives will kill him.” So now Yahweh said to Joshua, “Tell the people of Israel to choose these cities of asylum as I instructed you through Moses.

Then a terrible war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the great dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back.
