Joshua 11:6

The Passion Translation

Yahweh spoke to Joshua, saying, “Don’t be afraid of them; by this time tomorrow, I, Yahweh, will have them all lying slain before Israel. After the battle, cripple their horses and burn their chariots.”

The lovers of God will walk in integrity, and their children are fortunate to have godly parents as their examples.

Woe to those who run down to Egypt for help, trusting in the might of their multitude of cavalry, chariots, and riders. Their confident trust is not in the Holy One of Israel, nor do they consult with Yahweh.

“ ‘Then those living in the towns of Israel will go out and gather up all the abandoned weapons of the dead soldiers, make a bonfire with them, and burn them all up—the shields large and small, bows and arrows, javelins and spears. It will take seven years to burn them all.

Yahweh spoke to Joshua: “Do not fear the Amorite kings and their armies, for I have decreed your victory over them; not one will withstand you!”

All these kings and their enormous armies joined forces and encamped at Lake Merom to fight against Israel.

Joshua launched his surprise attack, and all his army pounced on them at their camp at Lake Merom.

Afterward, Joshua crippled their horses and burned their chariots as Yahweh had commanded.

Joshua instructed the people, “Get yourselves ready! Set yourselves apart for Yahweh! Tomorrow, Yahweh will perform for us great miracles!”

Phineas son of Eleazer, son of Aaron, ministered there before the ark. He inquired of Yahweh, saying, “Should we resume our battle with our brothers, the Benjamites? Or should we quit?” Yahweh answered, “Attack! For tomorrow I will give you the victory!”

That night Yahweh commanded Gideon, “Get up and attack the camp; I am giving you victory over the Midianites!
