The Passion Translation

“Martha,” Jesus said, “You don’t have to wait until then. I am the Resurrection, and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever.

The fountain of life flows from you to satisfy me. In your light of holiness we receive the light of revelation.

But your dead will live again! Their bodies will rise from the dead! It’s time to awaken and sing for joy, you dwellers in the dust! As the glistening, radiant dew refreshes the earth, so the Lord will awaken those dwelling among the dead.

Lord, it is because of your kindness that life is given. It is in you that my spirit lives. Now restore my health and give me life again!

Jesus responded, “I promise you—this very day you will enter paradise with me.”

A fountain of life was in him, for his life is light for all humanity.

Soon I will leave this world and they will see me no longer, but you will see me, because I will live again, and you will come alive too.

Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too.

For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.

Those who trust in the Son possess eternal life; those who don’t obey the Son will not see life, and God’s anger will rise up against them.”

For just as the Father has power to raise the dead, the Son will also raise the dead and give life to whomever he wants.

For as the Father is the source of life, so he has given the Son the power to impart life.

Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. Come every day to me and you will never be hungry. Believe in me and you will never be thirsty.

The only way people come to me is by the Father who sent me—he pulls on their hearts to embrace me. And those who are drawn to me, I will certainly raise them up in the last day.”

You killed the Prince of Life! But God raised him from the dead, and we stand here as witnesses to that fact.

That’s what the Scripture means when it says: “I have made you the father of many nations.” He is our example and father, for in God’s presence he believed that God can raise the dead and call into being things that don’t even exist yet.

For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death.

It would also mean that those believers in Christ who have passed away have simply perished.

If there is no resurrection, what do these people think they’re doing when they are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren’t raised, why be baptized for them?

We do this because we are convinced that he who raised Jesus will raise us up with him, and together we will all be brought into his presence.

And I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus and to experience the overflowing power of his resurrection working in me. I will be one with him in his sufferings and become like him in his death.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who died while believing in him.

the Living One! I was dead, but now look—I am alive forever and ever. And I hold the keys that unlock death and the unseen world.

This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.)

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and eliminate death entirely. No one will mourn or weep any longer. The pain of wounds will no longer exist, for the old order has ceased.”

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, flowing with water clear as crystal, continuously pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

“Come,” says the Holy Spirit and the Bride in divine duet. Let everyone who hears this duet join them in saying, “Come.” Let everyone gripped with spiritual thirst say, “Come.” And let everyone who craves the gift of living water come and drink it freely. “Come.”
