Jeremiah 44:1

The Passion Translation

Here is the word Yahweh gave Jeremiah concerning all the Israelites who were living in Egypt. They were in the cities of Migdol, Tahpanhes, and Memphis, and in the Pathros region.

Jeremiah 44:15

Then all the women there, along with all the men who were aware that their wives were sacrificing to other gods, answered me. There was a great crowd of people there listening to me, a large group of the people of Judah who lived in southern Egypt and were meeting together. They all answered me, saying:

“Tell this throughout Egypt; proclaim it in the cities of Migdol, Memphis, and Tahpanhes. Say to them, ‘Stand your ground, grab your weapons, for the war will destroy everything around you.’

Jeremiah 46:19

Get your bags packed to go into exile, fair people of Egypt. Memphis will be reduced to a desert, a desolate, uninhabited wasteland.

Ezekiel 29:10

therefore, I am your enemy and the enemy of your waterways. I will reduce Egypt to a desolate, empty desert, from Migdol in the north to Syene in the south, as far as the border of Ethiopia.

Ezekiel 29:14

I will bring the Egyptian captives back and restore them to the way they were before in their homeland of Pathros. There they will be an insignificant kingdom.

Ezekiel 30:13

Lord Yahweh says: “I will demolish the idols and destroy the false gods from Noph. Egypt will be left without a ruler and a plague of fear will sweep over Egypt.

Ezekiel 30:14

I will make southern Egypt deserted, burn Zoan to the ground, and punish Thebes.

Ezekiel 30:16

I will set Egypt on fire! Pelusium will be seized with great agony! The walls of Thebes will be torn down, and Noph will face distress daily from her enemies.

Ezekiel 30:18

At Tahpanhes, I will turn day to darkness when I shatter Egypt’s strength and silence the boast of her might. I will blanket Egypt with dark clouds, and her people will go into captivity.
