‘If you will remain in this land, I will build you up and not pull you down; I will firmly plant you and not uproot you. For I am filled with sorrow because of the disaster I had to bring upon you.

Yes, you will reveal yourself to Zion and appear in the brightness of your glory to restore her and give her children.

Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness.

God will come to save his Zion-people. God will build up his cities of Judah, for there his people will live in peace.

My eyes will compassionately watch over them for their good, to bring them back to this land, to build them up and not to tear them down, to plant them and not to uproot them.

“Did King Hezekiah and the people of Judah sentence Micah to death for prophesying this? Did not the king rather fear Yahweh, humble himself, and plead earnestly with him so that he relented of the disaster that he had decreed against them? Do we really want to bring a disaster upon ourselves with such a crime?”

But the nation that harnesses herself to the yoke of the king of Babylon and serves him, I will allow her to live and farm her land,” declares Yahweh.’ ”

I have watched over them to uproot, to knock down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring calamity, so now, I will carefully watch over them as they start over again and rebuild. And I will help them grow,” declares Yahweh.

I will bring back the captives of Israel and Judah and reestablish them as before.

So Johanan, all the army officers, and all the people refused to obey Yahweh’s command to stay in Judah.

And the nations around you will know that I, Yahweh, have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted what was once desolate. I, Yahweh, make this promise and will do it.’

‘After these things I will return to you and raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen into ruin. I will restore and rebuild what David experienced

Yet, whenever Yahweh raised up a hero for them, his presence and power were with that leader, and he would rescue the people from their enemies as long as that deliverer lived. Yahweh had mercy and pitied them because of their cries of distress and groanings under the grip of their oppressors.
