These evil ones refuse to hear my words, they stubbornly follow the inclinations of their own hearts, and they follow other gods to serve and worship them. So then, they will all become like this worthless, rotten undergarment.

You have it coming, and I have precisely measured your punishment,” declares Yahweh, “because you have trusted in lies and forgotten me entirely.

But my people have forgotten me and burn incense to gods who are nothing, who make my people stumble in their ways. They no longer follow the ways of blessing they knew before but have followed paths that lead them nowhere.

Has a nation ever traded in its gods (even though they are not really gods)? But my people have bartered away their glory in exchange for gods who do nothing.

How skillfully you pursue your lovers; even the worst adulterers could learn from you.

Their dreams, by which one tries to outdo the other, make my people forget me just as their ancestors forgot me in favor of Baal.

I hear the sound of voices echoing from the barren hills, the bitter weeping of the sons of Israel pleading for mercy because they lost their moral way and have forgotten Yahweh their God.

Some of your people will murder for pay. Some extort their neighbors with threats of violence, charging them exorbitant interest for obscene profits, yet they have entirely forgotten about me! I, Lord Yahweh, have spoken.

I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of the heavenly realm from the presence of God, like a pleasing bride that had been prepared for her husband, adorned for her wedding.

and no longer remembered Yahweh their God, who had saved them from all their enemies on every side.
