On the great waters your revenue was the grain from the Nile basin. The harvest of the Nile was your revenue. You were merchants who traded with the nations.

All that is planted by the mouth of the river will dry up, and the fields along the brooks will wither and turn to dust blown away by the wind.

Who has planned this for imperial Tyre, who once wore her crown? Your merchants were nobles, and your traders were honored by the world.

you will be happy and blessed as you sow your seed beside every stream and loose your ox and donkey to graze freely.

Why, then, would you now go down to Egypt to drink the waters of the Nile? Why would you go to Assyria to drink from the river Euphrates?

When you exported your goods to satisfy so many peoples with the abundance of your wealth and wares you enriched the kings of the earth.

By your wisdom and vast understanding you have amassed a great fortune! You have accumulated gold and silver and placed them into your royal treasuries.

And also all the territory of the Avvites to the south. (The land from the stream of Shihor, at the Egyptian border, as far north as the border of Ekron was considered Canaanite.)
