Deeply affected by what he heard, Joseph began to weep and hurriedly left their presence. After he had composed himself, he returned to them, and pointing to Simeon, said, “This one will remain here.” Then he had him tied and bound while they all watched.

Joseph hastily left the room, for he was overwhelmed with feelings of love for his brother and on the verge of tears. He went into a private room and sobbed, as tears ran down his cheeks.

Then Joseph threw his arms around Benjamin’s neck, sobbing, and Benjamin wept on Joseph’s neck.

With tears streaming down his face, Joseph kissed each brother, one by one. After their tearful, emotional embrace, they took time to speak brother-to-brother.

Joseph got in his chariot and rode to Goshen to meet his father, Israel. As soon as Joseph saw his father, he threw his arms around his father’s neck and wept for a long time.

Then they all cried with great weeping as one after another hugged Paul and kissed him.

And may Yahweh give you another husband and cause you to find rest in a happy home.” Then Naomi tenderly embraced Orpah and Ruth and kissed them goodbye, but they wailed and sobbed.
