“Never!” Joseph replied. “Don’t you realize that my master has nothing to worry about with me in charge, for he has put everything he has under my care?

My divinely loved friends, since you are resident aliens and foreigners in this world, I appeal to you to divorce yourselves from the evil desires that wage war within you.

Run as fast as you can from all the ambitions and lusts of youth; and chase after all that is pure. Whatever builds up your faith and deepens your love must become your holy pursuit. And live in peace with all those who worship our Lord Jesus with pure hearts.

So stop fooling yourselves! Evil companions will corrupt good morals and character.

This is why you must keep running away from sexual immorality. For every other sin a person commits is external to the body, but immorality involves sinning against your own body.

Stay far away from prostitutes and you’ll stay far away from the pit of destruction. For sleeping with a promiscuous woman is like falling into a trap that you’ll never be able to escape!

Sex with an adulteress is like falling into the abyss. Those under God’s curse jump right in to their own destruction.

“May the two of you protect me, and may we never be apart!” For they will keep you from the adulteress, with her smooth words meant to seduce your heart.

Don’t even go near the door of her house unless you want to fall into her seduction.

Remember this: The lips of a seductress seem sweet like honey, and her smooth words are like music in your ears.

Only wisdom can save you from the flattery of the promiscuous woman— she’s such a smooth-talking seductress!

my son, refuse to go with them and stay far away from them.

“Come home with me.” She invites those who are easily led astray, saying,

And there she sits at the gateway to the high places, on her throne overlooking the city.

She wrapped her arms around the senseless young man and held him tight— she enticed him with kisses that seemed so right. Then, with insolence, she whispered in his ear,

For this reason, teach the younger women to remarry and bear children and care for their household. This will keep them from giving our adversary a reason to gloat.

There is no one greater in his household than me, nor has he kept anything back from me except you, because you’re his wife. Why would I want to do such an immoral thing and sin against God?”

Then one day, when he had to go into the house to do his work and no one else was there,

Like a robber hiding in the shadows she’s waiting to claim another victim— another husband unfaithful to his wife.
