The Passion Translation

But Esau ran to Jacob and hugged him! He threw his arms around Jacob’s neck, he kissed him, and they wept in each other’s arms.

Immediately, he walked up to Rachel and kissed her! Unable to hold back his tears, Jacob wept aloud.

When Laban heard the news that his nephew Jacob had arrived at the well, he ran to greet him. Laban hugged and kissed Jacob and welcomed him into his home. After Jacob told him the story of all that happened,

Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I’m afraid he will come and kill all of us, including the women and children.

“Not anymore,” the man said to him. “Your new name is Israel, for you have struggled both with God and with people and have overcome.”

Joseph hastily left the room, for he was overwhelmed with feelings of love for his brother and on the verge of tears. He went into a private room and sobbed, as tears ran down his cheeks.

Joseph got in his chariot and rode to Goshen to meet his father, Israel. As soon as Joseph saw his father, he threw his arms around his father’s neck and wept for a long time.

When the Lord is pleased with the decisions you’ve made, he activates grace to turn enemies into friends.

It’s as easy for God to steer a king’s heart for his purposes as it is for him to direct the course of a stream.

“So the young son set off for home. From a long distance away, his father saw him coming, dressed as a beggar, and great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home. The father raced out to meet him, swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love.

Then they all cried with great weeping as one after another hugged Paul and kissed him.
