Therefore, Yahweh-God expelled him from Eden’s paradise to till the ground from which he was taken.

there was yet no vegetation, grains of the field, or shrubs sprouting on the earth, for there was no one to cultivate the land, and Yahweh-God had not yet sent rain.

When you try to cultivate the ground it will no longer produce crops for you; and you will be a fugitive, a homeless wanderer!”

Then later, she gave birth to Cain’s brother Abel. Abel grew up to be a shepherd, and Cain became a farmer, working the ground.

Noah, a farmer, was the first to plant a vineyard.
