Abraham spoke up again and said, “I am just a man formed from earth’s dust and ashes but allow me to be so bold as to ask you, my Lord.

Yahweh-God scooped up a lump of soil, sculpted a man, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The man came alive—a living soul!

“I live as an alien and stranger among you. Sell me some of your property so I can use it as a burial site for my wife.”

It will sprout weeds and thorns, and you will eat the plants of the field.

The life span of Adam was nine hundred and thirty years, and then he died.

You know all about us, inside and out. You are mindful that we’re made from dust.

Then man goes out to his labor and toil, working from dawn to dusk.

But if you were to withhold from them and turn away, they all would panic. And when you choose to take away their breath, each one dies and returns to the dust.

It really is senseless to work so hard from early morning till late at night, toiling to make a living for fear of not having enough. God can provide for his devoted lovers even while they sleep!

I’m so thirsty and parched. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. And now you lay me in the dust of death.

The wealthy of this world will feast in fellowship with him right alongside the humble of heart, bowing down to the dust, forsaking their own souls. They will all come and worship this worthy King!

When you speak the words “Life, return to me!” man turns back to dust.

When you forsake the ways of wisdom, you will wander into the realm of dark spirits.

“Multitudes of those who are sleeping in the Land of Dust will awaken, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting disgrace.

The first man was from the dust of the earth; the second Man is Yahweh, from the realm of heaven.

If any one of you has stolen from someone else, never do it again. Instead, be industrious, earning an honest living, and then you’ll have enough to bless those in need.

Beloved brothers and sisters, surely you remember how hard we labored among you. We worked night and day so that we would not become a burden to you while we preached the wonderful gospel of God.

For when we were with you we instructed you with these words: “Anyone who does not want to work for a living should go hungry.”

Every human being is appointed to die once, and then to face God’s judgment.
