May God give you heaven’s dew, the fatness of earth, and an abundance of grain and new wine!

Isaac replied, “You don’t understand. My blessing will empower him to be master over you. I have already given him all his brothers and relatives as servants. My blessing will richly provide him with grain and new wine. What more is left for me to do for you, my son?”

Then Isaac his father spoke these words: “You will live far from earth’s bounty and far from heaven’s dew on high.

Get your father and your families and come back to me. I will give you the best of the land in Egypt, and you will enjoy the fat of the land.’

“Asher’s food will be rich, and he will provide delicacies fit for a king.

The God of your father will help and protect you; the God who is more than enough will bless you. He will bless you with the blessings of heaven, blessings of the deep that lie beneath, and blessings of the breast and womb.

You provide sweet wine to gladden hearts. You give us daily bread to sustain life, giving us glowing health for our bodies.

This harmony can be compared to the dew dripping from Mount Hermon, which flows down upon the hills of Zion. Indeed, that is where Yahweh has decreed his blessings will be found, the promise of life forevermore!

All may drink of the anointing from the abundance of your house. All may drink their fill from the rivers of Eden.

The rage of a king is like the roar of a lion, but his sweet favor is like a gentle, refreshing rain.

By his divine revelation he broke open the hidden fountains of the deep, bringing secret springs to the surface as the mist of the night dripped down from heaven.

“Shower down righteousness, O heavens above. Let the clouds drip with deliverance! Let earth’s womb open and bear salvation’s fruit, with righteousness rising up beside it! I, Yahweh, have created all of them!

Can any of the false gods of foreign nations give us rain? Can the skies by themselves give showers? Only you can, O  Yahweh, our God! So, we place all our hope in you, for only you accomplish all these things.

However, some of the branches have been pruned away. And you, who were once nothing more than a wild olive branch, God has grafted in—inserting you among the remaining branches as a joint partner to share in the wonderful richness of the cultivated olive stem.

The power of faith prompted Isaac to impart a blessing to his sons, Jacob and Esau, concerning their prophetic destinies.
