And after Terah was born, Nahor lived another one hundred and nineteen years and had other sons and daughters.

Now Yahweh said to Abram, “Leave it all behind — your native land, your people, your father’s household, and go to the land that I will show you.

Then Yahweh appeared before Abram and said, “This is the land I will personally deliver to your seed.” So Abram erected an altar there to Yahweh, who had appeared before him.

Instead, go to my relatives in my native land and find a wife among them for my son.’

The servant asked him, “Suppose the woman is not willing to come back with me to this land. Should I then take your son back to your native land?”

Before Jacob left, Isaac called for him, blessed him, and gave him these instructions: “I forbid you to marry any Canaanite woman.

Leave at once for the land of your grandfather Bethuel in Paddan-Aram and find one of the young women there to marry, one of your uncle Laban’s daughters.

And if their hearts were still remembering what they left behind, they would have found an opportunity to go back.

His parents replied, “Why can’t you find a woman from among our relatives, or at least from our tribe? You don’t have to get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines.” But Samson told his father, “Get her for me; I know she’s the right one for me.”
