Instead, go to my relatives in my native land and find a wife among them for my son.’

Promise me you will go instead to my relatives in my native land and find a wife among them for my son Isaac.”

One day, when Laban had gone to his fields to shear his sheep, Rachel stole her father’s household idols.

Now Yahweh said to Abram, “Leave it all behind — your native land, your people, your father’s household, and go to the land that I will show you.

My master has put me under an oath saying, ‘Do not get a wife for my son from among the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living.

In reply I said to my master, ‘Suppose the woman refuses to return with me.’
