The Passion Translation

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he worshiped Yahweh, the everlasting God.

From there, he journeyed on toward the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built another altar to Yahweh where he prayed and worshiped Yahweh.

After completing their pact at Beersheba, King Abimelech and Phicol, his army commander, departed and returned to Philistine country.

From there, Isaac moved his camp to Beersheba.

So Isaac built an altar, prayed, and worshiped Yahweh there. He pitched his tent there, and his servants started digging another well.

So he named it Oath. This is why the city where they dug the well is called Beersheba to this day.

After many years Seth had a son named Enosh. During his lifetime, people began to worship Yahweh and pray to him.

Long before you gave birth to the earth and before the mountains were born, you have been from everlasting to everlasting, the one and only true God.

Lord, you have reigned as King from the very beginning of time. Eternity is your home.

Don’t you know? Haven’t you been listening? Yahweh is the one and only everlasting God, the Creator of all you can see and imagine! He never gets weary or worn out. His intelligence is unlimited; he is never puzzled over what to do!

For this is what the high and majestic one says, the one who fills the eternal realm with glory, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in high and holy places but also with the bruised and lowly in spirit, those who are humble and quick to repent. I dwell with them to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of those who are broken over their sin.

Only Yahweh is the true and living God, the King of all ages! At his fury the earth trembles, and nations crumble before his wrath.

Opposition to truth cannot be excused on the basis of ignorance, because from the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God’s nature have been made visible, such as his eternal power and transcendence. He has made his wonderful attributes easily perceived, for seeing the visible makes us understand the invisible. So then, this leaves everyone without excuse.

This mystery is understood through the prophecies of the Scripture and by the decree of the eternal God. And it is now heard openly by all the nations, igniting within them a deep commitment of faith.

Because of this my praises rise to the King of all the universe who is indestructible, invisible, and full of glory, the only God who is worthy of the highest honors throughout all of time and throughout the eternity of eternities! Amen!

Jesus, the Anointed One, is always the same—yesterday, today, and forever.

The Israelites did what was evil in Yahweh’s sight. They ignored Yahweh their God, and they served the Baal gods and the Asherah goddesses.
