But Lot was so insistent they finally agreed to go to his house. Lot had unleavened bread baked for them and prepared a feast, and they ate.

He said, “Please, my lords, come to your servant’s house to spend the night and wash your feet; then you can rise early and go on your way.” “No,” they answered. “We will be fine to spend the night in the town square.”

Isaac grew and was weaned; and on the day Sarah weaned him, Abraham prepared a great feast.

Then Laban said to the man, “Friend, Yahweh has wonderfully blessed you; please, come to my home. Why are you standing out here when I have prepared the house for you and a place for your camels?”

So Isaac prepared a wonderful feast for them, and they all ate and drank together.

I tell you—because of your shameless persistence, even though it’s the middle of the night, your friend will get up out of his bed and give you all that you need.

Matthew wanted to throw a banquet to honor Jesus. So he invited Jesus to his home for dinner, along with many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests. But the Jewish religious leaders and experts of the law complained to Jesus’ disciples, “Why would you defile yourselves by eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners? Doesn’t Jesus know it’s wrong to do that?”

They had prepared a supper for Jesus. Martha served, and Lazarus and Mary were among those at the table.

So now we can celebrate our continual feast, not with the old “leaven,” the yeast of wickedness or bitterness, but we will feast on the freshly baked bread of innocence and holiness.

For it is Christ’s love that fuels our passion and holds us tightly, because we are convinced that he has given his life for all of us. This means all died with him,

And show hospitality to strangers, for they may be angels from God showing up as your guests.

So Gideon went and cooked a young goat and many loaves of unleavened bread. He placed the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot and took his offering and presented it to him under the oak tree.
