The Passion Translation

“Then, with the might of his entire kingdom, he will resolve to conquer Egypt by cunningly making a peace treaty with the king of Egypt. The king of Syria will offer one of his daughters in marriage to the king of Egypt in order to defeat his kingdom, but his plan will fall apart and will not work to his advantage.

The very moment I call to you for a father’s help the tide of battle turns and my enemies flee. This one thing I know: God is on my side!

A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for his life, but only the designs of God’s purpose will succeed in the end.

Despite Pharaoh’s mighty army and numerous troops, he will not be able to save him in war. When the Babylonians build siege ramps and wooden towers to kill many in the city, the Egyptians will not lift a finger to help!

“Son of man, turn toward the land of the Ammonites and prophesy against them.

Then take an iron frying pan and place it on edge as though it were an iron wall between you and the city. Then direct your gaze toward the city, for it is under siege and you are besieging it. This is to be a sign, an object lesson for the people of Israel.

Then direct your gaze on the model of the siege of Jerusalem, shake your fist at the city and prophesy against her.

“He will then retreat to the well protected fortresses of his own country. In time, he will be defeated, lose his grip on power, and disappear.

“After those sixty-two weeks, the Anointed One will be cut off and left with nothing. The people of the commander will destroy both the city and the sanctuary. Then its end will come like an overwhelming flood, and until those sixty-two weeks end, there will be war. The decree of desolation has been issued!

“So join with me, for if you’re not on my side you are against me. And if you refuse to help me gather the spoils, you are making things worse.

Whoever is not on my side is against me, and whoever does not gather the spoils with me will be forever scattered.

Jesus let nothing distract him from departing for Jerusalem because the time for him to be lifted up drew near, and he was full of passion to complete his mission there.

So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us?
