Be willing to be made low before the Lord and he will exalt you!

“Remember this: everyone with a lofty opinion of who he is and who seeks to raise himself up will be publicly humbled. And everyone with a modest opinion of who he is and chooses to humble himself will be raised up before all.”

Lift yourself up with pride and you will soon be brought low, but a meek and humble spirit will add to your honor.

Remember this: If you have a lofty opinion of yourself and seek to be honored, you will be humbled. But if you have a modest opinion of yourself and choose to humble yourself, you will be honored.”

“Which one of them left for home that day reconciled to God? The humble tax collector, not the religious leader! For everyone who praises himself will one day be publicly humiliated, and everyone who humbles himself will one day be publicly honored and lifted up.”

Powerful princes he tears from their thrones and he lifts up the lowly to take their place.

Every valley will be raised up, every mountain brought low. The rugged terrain will become level ground and the rough places a plain.

Even now, you refuse to humble yourselves or be in awe of me. You have not followed my law or my teachings, which I set before you and your ancestors.

My praises will break the powers of wickedness, while the righteous will be promoted and become powerful!

The arrogant will be humbled and the pride of man brought low. Only one will be exalted in that day: Yahweh!

For this is what the high and majestic one says, the one who fills the eternal realm with glory, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in high and holy places but also with the bruised and lowly in spirit, those who are humble and quick to repent. I dwell with them to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of those who are broken over their sin.

For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves.

“Yet you, his successor Belshazzar, you have not humbled your heart even though you knew all this.

Say to King Jehoiachin and his mother, “Come down from your high thrones and take a humble seat, for your glorious crown has tumbled off your heads.”

Breathtaking and awesome is your power! Astounding and unbelievable is your might and strength when it goes on display!

Who would ever want to arouse the Lord’s jealousy? Is that something you think you’re strong enough to endure?

“Son of man, groan with bitter grief before their eyes. Groan as though your heart is breaking with sorrow.

My brothers and sisters, take the prophets as your mentors. They have prophesied in the name of the Lord and it brought them great sufferings, yet they patiently endured.

In his own time he unveiled his word through the preaching of the gospel, which was entrusted to me by the command of God our Life Giver.

All his elite troops will fall by the sword, and the survivors will be scattered in every direction. And then you will know that I, Yahweh, have decreed it.’ ”

He gave himself as ransom-payment for everyone. Now is the proper time for God to give the world this witness.

So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will flee in agony.
