Psalm 73:25

The Message

You’re all I want in heaven! You’re all I want on earth! When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, God is rock-firm and faithful. Look! Those who left you are falling apart! Deserters, they’ll never be heard from again. But I’m in the very presence of God— oh, how refreshing it is! I’ve made Lord God my home. God, I’m telling the world what you do!

Now you’ve got my feet on the life path, all radiant from the shining of your face. Ever since you took my hand, I’m on the right way.

My choice is you, God, first and only. And now I find I’m your choice! You set me up with a house and yard. And then you made me your heir!

And me? I plan on looking you full in the face. When I get up, I’ll see your full stature and live heaven on earth.

“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: “Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They’re his people, he’s their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good—tears gone, crying gone, pain gone—all the first order of things gone.” The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down—each word dependable and accurate.”
