Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind.

Exploit the poor or glad-hand the rich—whichever, you’ll end up the poorer for it.

Don’t accept a meal from a tightwad; don’t expect anything special. He’ll be as stingy with you as he is with himself; he’ll say, “Eat! Drink!” but won’t mean a word of it. His miserly serving will turn your stomach when you realize the meal’s a sham.

Committed and persistent work pays off; get-rich-quick schemes are ripoffs.

But if it’s only money these leaders are after, they’ll self-destruct in no time. Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after.
