God saw that human evil was out of control. People thought evil, imagined evil—evil, evil, evil from morning to night. God was sorry that he had made the human race in the first place; it broke his heart. God said, “I’ll get rid of my ruined creation, make a clean sweep: people, animals, snakes and bugs, birds—the works. I’m sorry I made them.”

Righteous chews on wisdom like a dog on a bone, rolls virtue around on his tongue. His heart pumps God’s Word like blood through his veins; his feet are as sure as a cat’s.

Rash language cuts and maims, but there is healing in the words of the wise.

Kind words heal and help; cutting words wound and maim.

Good leaders cultivate honest speech; they love advisors who tell them the truth.

Drinking from the beautiful chalice of knowledge is better than adorning oneself with gold and rare gems.
