Isaiah 39:3

The Message

Later the prophet Isaiah showed up. He asked Hezekiah, “What were these men up to? What did they say? And where did they come from?” Hezekiah said, “They came from a long way off, from Babylon.”

Isaiah 38:1

At that time, Hezekiah got sick. He was about to die. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz visited him and said, “God says, ‘Prepare your affairs and your family. This is it: You’re going to die. You’re not going to get well.’”

“And what did they see in your palace?” “Everything,” said Hezekiah. “I showed them the works, opened all the doors and impressed them with it all.”

“Attention! I’m bringing a far-off nation against you, O house of Israel.” God’s Decree. “A solid nation, an ancient nation, A nation that speaks another language. You won’t understand a word they say. When they aim their arrows, you’re as good as dead. They’re a nation of real fighters! And the fortresses that made you feel so safe— leveled with a stroke of the sword!
