Deuteronomy 23:15

The Message

Don’t return a runaway slave to his master; he’s come to you for refuge. Let him live wherever he wishes within the protective gates of your city. Don’t take advantage of him.

His good heart made him a good shepherd; he guided the people wisely and well.

David asked him, “Can you take us to the raiders?” “Promise me by God,” he said, “that you won’t kill me or turn me over to my old master, and I’ll take you straight to the raiders.”
