Romans 1:13

I want you to know, brothers,[2] that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the Gentiles.

In days to come[2] Jacob shall take root, Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots and fill the whole world with fruit.

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.

In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said,

And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem, saying, "After I have been there, I must also see Rome."

After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

There we found brothers[5] and were invited to stay with them for seven days. And so we came to Rome.

that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.

Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brothers:[3] a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

Or do you not know, brothers[1] -- for I am speaking to those who know the law -- that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?

I appeal to you, brothers,[1] by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.

I want you to know, brothers,[1] that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

Now concerning[1] spiritual gifts,[2] brothers,[3] I do not want you to be uninformed.

Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers,[2] of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

To give a human example, brothers:[5] even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.

If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.

Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.[3]

so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing -- as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth,

because we wanted to come to you -- I, Paul, again and again -- but Satan hindered us.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth.
