Dreadful sounds are in his ears; in prosperity the destroyer will come upon him.

Terrors frighten him on every side, and chase him at his heels.

that the exulting of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?

Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away![3]

The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.

They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, "Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come."

And about ten days later the LORD struck Nabal, and he died.
