The LORD will bring back his bloody deeds on his own head, because, without the knowledge of my father David, he attacked and killed with the sword two men more righteous and better than himself, Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.

David knew that Saul was plotting harm against him. And he said to Abiathar the priest, "Bring the ephod here."

And David said, "As the LORD lives, the LORD will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish.

Moreover, the LORD will give Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me. The LORD will give the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines."
