Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations!
He asked life of you; you gave it to him, length of days forever and ever.
For you make him most blessed forever;[1] you make him glad with the joy of your presence.
Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief;[7] when his soul makes[8] an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
