The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;

It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.

He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.

The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.

But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands.

Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.

So the disciples determined, everyone according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers[3] living in Judea.

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

The LORD will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
