When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.

Why do you, like God, pursue me? Why are you not satisfied with my flesh?

if the men of my tent have not said, 'Who is there that has not been filled with his meat?'

They surrounded me like bees; they went out like a fire among thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them off!

Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the LORD?

The cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me;[1]

For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet[2] --

Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.

Have those who work evil no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?

When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before[2] your presence.

And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken."
