For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and he has not hidden his face from him, but has heard, when he cried to him.

Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.

O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.

This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

All my bones shall say, "O LORD, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?"

Hide not your face from your servant; for I am in distress; make haste to answer me.

In the days of his flesh, Jesus[1] offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.
