Let a righteous man strike me -- it is a kindness; let him rebuke me -- it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.

Strike a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; reprove a man of understanding, and he will gain knowledge.

Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear.

For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,

It is better for a man to hear the rebuke of the wise than to hear the song of fools.

"You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Brothers,[1] if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
