And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD and said: "O LORD the God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.

"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.

But you, O LORD, are enthroned forever; you are remembered throughout all generations.

All the host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall fall, as leaves fall from the vine, like leaves falling from the fig tree.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner;[2] but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will never be dismayed.

"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.

"For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your offspring and your name remain.

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
