as I was in my prime,[1] when the friendship of God was upon my tent,

with the purified you show yourself pure; and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous.

The friendship[1] of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.

Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight.

The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares its joy.

He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the LORD.

If anyone's will is to do God's[5] will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.'
