Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it" -- when you have it with you.

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might,[2] for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.

I had put off my garment; how could I put it on? I had bathed my feet; how could I soil them?

"You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have.

But I am sending[1] the brothers so that our boasting about you may not prove vain in this matter, so that you may be ready, as I said you would be.

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,
