By justice a king builds up the land, but he who exacts gifts[1] tears it down.

So David reigned over all Israel. And David administered justice and equity to all his people.

So Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was firmly established.

Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on his throne as king for the LORD your God! Because your God loved Israel and would establish them forever, he has made you king over them, that you may execute justice and righteousness."

and that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding.[2] Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves.

The King in his might loves justice.[1] You have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

It is an abomination to kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness.

A king who sits on the throne of judgment winnows all evil with his eyes.

If a king faithfully judges the poor, his throne will be established forever.

Thus says the LORD: "In a time of favor I have answered you; in a day of salvation I have helped you; I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people, to establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages,

Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

And Samuel said to Saul, "You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the LORD your God, with which he commanded you. For then the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
