But now for a brief moment favor has been shown by the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant and to give us a secure hold[2] within his holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our slavery.

Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O LORD, in the light of your face,

Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

It will be healing to your flesh[2] and refreshment[3] to your bones.

Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.

And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
