The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

Surely God does not hear an empty cry, nor does the Almighty regard it.

Why, O LORD, do you stand afar off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

For though the LORD is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar.

They cried for help, but there was none to save; they cried to the LORD, but he did not answer them.

For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.

Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me.

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes[3] the bones.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.

but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
