Whoever winks the eye causes trouble, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.

Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

Give instruction[2] to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor,[3] but the lips of a fool consume him.

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
