If they say, "Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason;

He is like a lion eager to tear, as a young lion lurking in ambush.

For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life.[2]

asking as a favor against Paul[1] that he summon him to Jerusalem -- because they were planning an ambush to kill him on the way.
