Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters,[4] and they gathered the whole battalion before him.

And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire.

And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came,

And the soldiers led him away inside the palace (that is, the governor's headquarters),[2] and they called together the whole battalion.

And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.

during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness.

Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.

Annas then sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

Then they led Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the governor's headquarters.[5] It was early morning. They themselves did not enter the governor's headquarters, so that they would not be defiled, but could eat the Passover.
