Ahab said to Elijah, "Have you found me, O my enemy?" He answered, "I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the LORD.

But he said to him, "Did not my heart go when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Was it a time to accept money and garments, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male servants and female servants?

By their evil they make the king glad, and the princes by their treachery.

Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

and said, "What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?" And they paid him thirty pieces of silver.

Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam's error and perished in Korah's rebellion.
